You have difference of opinion and I respect that. What you are underestimating is power of peaceful protest. One more thing, pardon me on this but I hardly understood anything where you are going in second paragraph.
Let me clear a misconception for you. It is not a peaceful protest because USCIS will not know why and for what reason you are sending the flowers. Even if it did - you need to realize that the entire system needs a fix and I will say this one more time, FLOWERS are going to change jack-shit.

2) Differentiate ourselves from illegal immigrants
3) Statistics such as taxes paid, contribution to economy, etc will help
4) Ability to purchase homes, start business, and create jobs
5) For the sizeable population we are, involvement in crime is minimal
6) Peace loving people who want to live in this county and contribute towards its growth.
So for heavens sake, stop this nonsensical flower campaign. You will only piss off the folks at USCIS. Last time the flowers were re-routed to the nearby V.A hospital. This time will be no different.

You go one level above and deal with higher-ups, make your case, and usually the outcome is that the person at your level who is butting heads with you will accept what you are saying because his boss asked him to shut up and do what you are asking.

No its 180 days since receipt date. It is safe that your I40 be approved but not necessary. The other condition is you are working in same/ similar job profile and you are getting wages equal or higher than what is mentioned in your LCA.

Number USA is ready to kill our bill. If we introduce at time nothing is going to happen . Even it may kill CIR and that is what Anti wants.. This guy is encouraging people to push for recapture which will die soon. Why he didnot update profile. Even if he is good member he should pledge 25 $.
Did you read undocumented guys are trying to push their cause and by putting legals aside, which the goverment seems to be hearing. What makes you feel we must wait.. Just because you cannot contribute anything except for yourself. .People waiting for close to 10 years are usually in a position to create value and they are tied to this backlogs. We know EB2 is going at some pace.. How much time do you think is needed for EB2 to be in bin, into the same state as EB3 is in, right now.

I know ROW country may not like this thread, but look at EB-3 India or China, put yourself in our shoes and than you may realize how unfair this country is. In this unprecedented financial turmoil, I feel there are very remote chances for CIR or any package which increase immigration etc would pass, I am taking this initiative to gather as many people I can and go to washington. Again this is not an IV effort. If you are with me , you can spare some time it could be few days in Washington!! please PM me.
Again we are not creating any organization or anything, we are not going against IV's agenda. This is also a part of IV's agenda, but for now our sole agenda will be to bring a 2 line bill to remove country quota or increase the country cap(whichever can fly).
PS : For EB-3 India, unless country cap is removed or increased, you can presume you GC application dead forever...For EB-2 India It'll be a long journey for people with PDs sooner than 2005...

I presented an idea recently, as a temprory fix in these tough times. All I got was couple funny replys that has nothing to do with my plan. Also I got few red dots as a bonus.
Many gave up hope I believe.
Don't worry about the comments and the dots. I agree, things are going to get very tough in coming years.
And, the work of every president in the modern history has been diagonally opposite to the expectation. Example, conservatives voted for Bush to ban abortion, stop illegal immigration, balance budget etc. On all these issues, he was a major upset to his supporters. Based on what I know (and don't know), I think that the expectations of most people from Obama administration are likely to dash against the rock. Specifically, people on immigration forums like this one, who feels being in the proximity of a miracle will soon realize the dangerously flawed situation. The apathy of this community will consume it. Live and learn....

There is nothing to worry. You should be fine. IT does not really depend on your specific skills. If you move to another position as systems analyst with diferent technical skills it should not matter. So long as you are in the same/similar occupation as defined in ONET job code.

I have a small doubt on AC -21 especially the same / similar interpretation. in Perm Application there are two places where there is job description. One is Section H field 11 ( Job Opportunity/ job duties) and other one is Section F field 2 ( Prevailing Wage/ SOC code) now both define what the job is the Section H is company specific and Section F is list of USCIS codes under which this particular job falls as subset.
The question is will USCIS judge using section F or Section H for same/ similar interpretation because Section F is pretty Generic and as long as you are in same field it works example in IT if you were say DBA and now data modeler or Systems Analyst or coder they are pretty much same. Here is an example of one such code

If we show the drivers lisense and give them the social security number, shouldn't they be able to see whether we are legal or not? Carrying the I-94 is a possibility but it is not a picture ID. I am sure they will ask for passport if you only have the I-94. Now if I am required to carry my passport all the time that becomes a real pain particularly if we are on H1/L1 and present for quite a long time. I understand such requirements for B1/B2 who dont establish residence and are either in a hotel / somebody elses apartment. The bottom line is, "times are bad and they are looking for somebody to direct all their anger and unfortunately it is us that they have chosen". I still dont understand the logic behind this. Americans hate people comming here to work but appreciate people staying in their own country and producing cheap goods to be marketted here. There is also this quite ridiculous situation with the drivers lisense, right? most states we have to retake the whole damn test, yes computer and the acutal driving test, each year when we renew the H1b!! Legal immigrant lobbies are weaker than illegal ones. We need to get more lobbying power to contribute to our causes. I dont know how many there are now, but we sure are weaker than the ones supporting the illegal immigrants. A lot more power in the corridors of Washington are needed to move things to our side. Hopefully our next generation will see better representation than the woeful lack that we face now. I agree with Bechara that sending flowers wont help.

I have enough miles to get about 3 round trip tickets. Please PM me if you are in need for participating at the DC event.
Please note that priority would be given to
1) someone from mid-west or south-west. Basically the preference is for someone who is not within the drivable distance.
2) You also need to be registered for the advocacy day.
3) You also have to be willing to participate in the training and the 2 days of advocacy.
4) You need to PM me with your name and phone number and good time to reach. There is not much time to go back and forth on PM or emails.

Except for myself and Rajeev, no one joined the conference call tonight. C'mmon guys, we need some action here. We all ought to participate in these calls. Writing emails, coming and posting I am in is not going to help. We have to take actions here. I will set up a conference call on another day next week and please make sure you all attend.
