Please excuse my ignorance but what is a "red-eye" ?

There is a flight leaving BWI airport by 9:15p - I guess that may be a good option?

What are the options to travel from BWI Airport to IV gathering point?

Red EYE.... Red-eye flight - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red-eye_flight)

If you are going back to West Coast, they are not called RedEye flights.

    Guys,

What is IV step towards L1A misuse?

I am hearing that too many people are using up this category.

    Hmmm....what a Pity?

Does the Gov know....I am sure not.

Cooked up Resumes, small companies are misusing this kind of Visas...
This is not acceptable. Please contact you local Senators.

    Whats the point?
Just because we are not getting our greencard in our category, you want to stop other guys from getting it.

How about USCIS and DOL examine your application closely and find faults. Would you want it?
So how can you ask others to have a different rules than you?

Wake up. Don’t take every word from Ron Hira as word of Gospel. This guy is the biggest thief and preacher of hate.

If you guys are wondering who Ron Hira is , check his pic at the link below. Poetic Justice? Some immigrant (or someone born in a immigrant family). How ironic?

    Arun,

Minor correction, these are articulate idiots, just BUSY killing their valuable time arguing among themselves. Why bother them, let them be engaged in a very important discussion. Some of the posts are as idiotic and over-board as The Mad Show.

Is USCIS doesn't give a damn about educational credentials why do they they have EB2 category for Aliens with Advanced Degree, EB1 category for Aliens with Ph.D, Uncapped H1 for Aliens with US degrees etc..

Even Canadian point based Immigration system assigns more points for aliens with advanced degrees.

First of all USCIS is nobody to decide whether or not education credentials mean anything or not. That decision is taken by lawmakers. We all know theer are two kind of lawmakers Republican & Democrats.

Republicans love the people with money i.e. large employers. Publicly, most Republicans hate everything under the sun. Privately, they would want to love you if you are a gay. These are bunch of idealogs to oppose abortion & gun control, unless you can show them some green and then they will be your best friends. Republicans think God is scared of Gun lobby so God is on their side.

Democrats is the name of another group of idiots. They dont know what they should do when in spite of all their efforts to not get elected; they are thrown into the Congress as the Majority party. One thing Democrats are good at, they know how to give up majority in the Congress. Publicly, Democrats would pretend that they care for the poor. Privately, they too would want to love you if you are a gay. These are another bunch of idealogs, who, privately, would work day-and-night for the very poor and under-privileged group of people, unless you can show them some green and then they will be your best friends. Democrats think God is scared of US Chamber of commerce, so they only support illegal immigration.

Now, most people in EB backlogs are neither very rich company/big business owners nor the EB applicants are very poor. And to add to that, last time I checked, most EB applicants are not gay, unless the recent poll numbers would suggest otherwise. So how in the world do we expect to get our issues fixed if we are neither rich business owners, cant pretend to be very poor nor are we gay? I think we are toast.

As far as EB-1, 2 & 3 is concerned, these categories are created so that some people, as seen on this forum, could just stroke their egos thinking that they are better than others around them. In essence, this is another form of discrimination so that people like you and others could fight on forum like these ;-).

    Permanent Resident Card
The Permanent Resident Card, Form I-551, is issued to all Permanent Residents as evidence of alien registration and their permanent status in the US. The card must be in your possession at all times. This requirement means that you are not only required to have a currently valid Form I-551 at all times, but also that you must carry your currently valid Form I-551 on your person at all times. The Permanent Resident Card currently is issued with a 10-year validity. You status as a Permanent Resident does not expire with the 10-year validity. Only the card expires. The card is only valid up to the expiration date and must be renewed before it expires.

This is good and healthhy discussion except for few who dont want to think beyond today's goal.

As someone has listed already few advantages of citizenship.

I would like to add that GC give you freedom in terms of the Emplyment and Residing in US. But it also has very strict criteria how you live in this country. You are no free with getting GC. Giving some points

You need to carry your GC all times with you.

You can be deported out of country if you dont report you forget to report your address changes.

You can be deported out of country for very small crimes such as DWI, shplifting etc.

Most of the states and federal govt dont emplyee non-citizens.

Several goverment benefits are not available to non-citizens

You can not be out of country for more than 6 months. And also not multiple time.

You need to able to prove that you ahve permanent ties to this country all the time you travel outside. (irrespective of time frame)

I am sure some other members can add lot to these points.

So in nut shell GC and Citizenship are totally different.

GC will just give you freedom from your employer. I am sure in long run you will also realize that your that freedom does not help you too much. May be a little bit if you are with consultant or IT field.

There is no harm in thinking ahead and thinking about citizenship. Those who will be satified with GC, does not need to worry about this discussion as they are no more interested in this future benefit.

Also there are lots of reasons that can be listed, why law makers will be interested in the advancing Citizenship benefit for HIGHLY SKILLED IMMIGRANT who is in the country for long time, has contributed to the Federal Taxes for five years, has good skills in STEM areas and has to suffer in comparision to Family based or marriage based applicants in terms of Citizenship. You can see recent advance of OPT for STEM graduates as small justifification for such hope.

So lets continue this discussion, and comeup with good demand list and supporting justification , in terms of Citizenship benefit for highly skilled immigrants who get GC based on emplpoyment.

Browing through the text it seems that SA180 has immigration provisions. Some amendments are agreed to, some are withdrawn and the rest are in "submitted" state. SA180 is in submitted state. Does it mean voted down?

What people are doing here is basically discounting the value of education. They are questioning the point of going to college at all (or to get a graduate degree), when you can just go to a trade school and learn a programming language that gets you a job. By that logic, why study history, biology, philosophy, languages, etc., if you eventually want to be in the software industry.

What people need to understand is that education gives you perspective. I don't directly use 95% of the education that I gained in many years of school, college and graduate studies. Does that mean it's worthless? I beg to differ, and so do my employers and people who work with me.

    <Rant>
A good formal education is always desirable. I have no problem with that. What I take objection to is this entitlement mentality of some folks. A degree does not entitle a person to anything. It may help people get their foot in the door, but then on, they should be judged purely by contribution and merit. This is mostly the case in US and the reason why most Indians do well here. Contrast this to an Indian system and you see all sorts of differentiation going on. An engineering graduate thinks a commerce graduate is dirt. A commerce student thinks a history student is typically retarded. An IAS officer thinks he is GOD :D. A US degree holder (of Indian origin) thinks he should be ahead of immigration line. It goes on...
In all this, we are forgetting the actual person and attaching too much weight to an educational certificate issued by an institute/university. Education is an on going thing. It is good to have formal education, but we often forget universities are not the only sources of education and degree certificates the only credentials. Heck, even USCIS recognizes this :D.

Ladies and gents, if anyone of you have that coveted PhD from Stanford, don't jump into water yet, thinking you can walk on it :D:D

    </Rant>

Going back to the original subject of discussion - before the thread got hijacked by plainspeak and some really divisive and dangerous viewpoints -
This is typically what anti-immigrant and competitor websites do, they never donate or take part in advocacy activities - like PlainSpeak. examples of anti-immigrants are numbersUSA, FAIR and many others. your game is up, you can leave this website.
They pick up a thread that educates members about advocaccy and pretend to have an argument and completely divert the topic. If people have questions there are better ways to talk to management or core.
There were very valid posts about meeting lawmakers and requests for ideas for a better EB system, which were all supressed thanks to the negative campaign.
Admins please delete posts of PlainSpeak as his goal is to hamper advocacy efforts.
This is a grass-root effort and there is no nice way of getting rid of weeds.
Freeloader weeds are just filling up our Server disk space that we pay for, with their bullshit.
