hellomms Could you gather all such people who are facing this issue and want to join the effort to fix it, at a single place on an IV thread. Once we have a sizable number of people to take initiative this effort can be successful. It is difficult to divert attention and resources for a single person. Each immigration issue that our community faces is important to the person suffering from it. IV is a place where people can get together and do something about fixing it.
I am willing to take the responsibility of gathering dates of people that are stuck and waiting for a reply.:)

Went through all 14 pages of this thread plus other forum searches - couldn't find an answer for this one.
I asked my employer to create sub-account for me at http://www.plc.doleta.gov so I could check my PERM case status without polling them. The employer got back to me and said "looked into the site and I couldn�t find the way to create user account to view your case only".
They dont mind making sub-account for me, same way they do for attorneys and paralegals, but they dont want me to see their other pending cases or any information, unrelated to my case. So, my question is: is there a way to create sub-account, which would allow seeing my own case only?

Can i file it myself ? i did talk to a lawyer and she said we need a document from a company saying that the position is still open before we can file I485 by myself.

This is just to inform you that I have posted (not emailed) letters to the Pres, Speaker, Congressman, Issa (letter of thanks) and Senators on the subject bill
Request all those who believe that this will help our community to write a letter / send a mail (whatever conveniences you)
It is unfortunate that almost all our discussions end up becoming vitriolic, passionate and divisive. Just keep doing what we all can to help get more visas for us and IF POSSIBLE let us try to be united. The logic as I see is - the more number of visas for us, the more we gain. I have no more comments to offer.
I only hope and wish the community the very best!

And to add if this continues, Congressman will not take these requests seriously going forward as every other day they will be getting such requests. So please have patience and wait for few days before you approach your local Congressman.
Definitely agree with herd mentality and haste, but can't blame them also. What if the dates go back again next month. So its a catch-22.

People who are getting approved. Please post your notice received dates. It will help estimate if the USCIS is going by RD. Pappu says they are following FIFO but they are approving Feb and jan 2006 cases while 2005 PD is still waiting. Maybe they are going by RD FIFO. If we know the dates of people getting approved it will help.
My RD was July 17th....not sure if there is any trend that we can discern here...

If we want to be all inclusive and get more support for this movement then we should try to include more and more people. Having said that we can expand that by adding provision for,
1) Time spent as Students in F1 or similar category.
2) Time spent by Research Scholar for e.g PHD holder who may have spent 5-7 years working on PHD's, and they would love to capture those times.
What you guys think?

1. If they are legally here for 10 years (With approved I-140 and waiting for Adjustment of Status without current date).
2. If they have earned full 40 points in Social Security (http://immigrationvoice.org/forum/#)
3. If they have paid the tax continuously for 10 years
4. If they own a house and paying Mortgage (adding weightage to the Economy (http://immigrationvoice.org/forum/#) boost)
and
5. If they do not have any criminal records in these 10 years.

I just fell off the chair.
The first response to my $200 campaign. Shows how popular I will be in my run for public office. Makes me feel slightly better and hopeful.
After making a contribution, we should focus on contributions from other members. I don't know how any other discussion will take us to our goal.
It is easy to work on non-paying members and persons who visit the site.
It is very clear that IV's email is not reaching all members. Any progress?

The Senate passed today Fair Minimum Wage Act, H.R. 2 today. The House passed this bill, H.R. 2 and the Senate debated the bill for the past several days. In the process, hundreds of amendments had been introduced on the Senate floor. The Senate floor then agreed to a lot of these amendments. One of these amendments which the Senate had agreed to and passed as Division B of the H.R. 2 is the Immigration Reform bill.

The immigration reform bill that the Senate passed today covers a lot of the provisions which were part of the Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act of 2006 which the Senate passed last year and failed in the House.

I guess chance for 1st and 2nd option are high. And, this would answer Ramba's question how EB3 for India would get approval for PD 2003. There are very few 2001 PDs left (per me). Relatively more 2002 and most of 2001 and 2002 are pending due to name check else they would have got their GC during July and USCIS would not have returned VISA numbers back to DOS nor some numbers would have finally got wasted (FY2007).
So next PD would be 2003 (and there are very few 2003 filings that were filed before June 2007).

I've already signed up for monthly contribution...and sent LogicLife's mail as a wake up call for all the fence sitters and freeloaders.
I can relate with anurakt's feelings...it's amazing how penny wise pound foolish people can get!
Come on guys, I have introduced at least 8 friends to IV and (almost) forced then to contribute :) Let's all get 2-3 members and persuade them to contribute.

I did the same thing last couple of months, persuaded my friends like crazy and sat at their homes and got them registered and also got them to contribute. Looks like now I have to go to their homes again and get them to sign up for Monthly contribution. People just dont get it.

I think your calculation is wrong. If there are 8742 applications then it should take less than 3 years not 5 years. In the 2nd case for 14583 applications the wait would be around 5 years instead of 10-12 years. This is due to the fact that every year around 3000 visas go to EB3 category. Though this is a long wait too so either way we need legislative fix for all the cases.
For EB3 Folks with PD's in early - 2003- there are close to 8742 applicants in front of you That is a wait of 5 more years.
For EB3 Folks with PD's in mid 2003 and later - There are 14583 applicants in line before you- That is a wait of 10-12 more years.
Now the only way forward will be to lobby with IV for a legislative fix. Apart from that there is just no option, the sooner people realise that and help IV with advocacy, the better results we will get.
