I have H1-b petition approval but i dont have h1-I-94 card.
Is it legal to work without h1-I-94 Card?
Do i need to travel out side of country ?
Read the approval letter. It states that you would need to travel outside the US and apply for H1 visa at US Consulate abroad. If your visa is granted then you can re-enter US with new I-94 card. Stay inside US without a valid I-94 is considered Out-Of-Status.

I am not one of those who can go advocate at places as I do not have luxury of it. I respect people who are going beyond their daily schedule and advocating, but what are the goals.
It is certainly not because I/others want to see the buildings that we are asking people to come to DC - and the people going in to the meetings will be advocating for their and your green card issues (whether you want it or not - these efforts will benefit everyone stuck in the EB backlogs including you!). Getting the green card backlogs cleared is the goal - and it is deplorable that after being a member since 2007, you do not know this.
I have been coordinating with IV for the past 2 years now and I have never had members (majority) - including you - once trying to find a way of helping in this cause. IV has had the campaign of meeting with lawmakers in their local districts at a time that is convenient for each member - IN THEIR OWN LOCAL TOWNS - and I can count my fingers and toes on how many have actually done it.
The sad part is that you come from a state that was successful in raising $1500 from members (in addition to the contributions to IV and air mile donations) and instrumental in sending 5 members fully funded to DC + 2 green card holders + 2 members buying their own tickets. The chapter is coming together in these circumstances and you are clueless....... of what is happening within your own state - Joining the chapter neither costs money nor effort, just the benefit of knowing what is happening within your state!
I however want to contribute not *donate* if I know what am I going after.

Do you know about the conference calls that is done every week with attorneys - check it out in the members forum if you were unaware of it!
I dont want to dampen the interests of others who are ready to contribute. Tell me few reasons and I can contribute a decent amount.
Nobody in this forum or elsewhere said, "Mr/Ms bitzbytz - please donate the money to IV" And certainly no one is forcing you to do it either. There are requests for contributions from many members - because they believe in the cause - and their audience are fellow believers.

On one page it is written $90 but on remaining it is $150.

With IKE striking in Texas , cgihouston dot org says "we will be able to provide only essential/emergency consular services until normalcy is restored."
I need to send my passport for renewal, i was thinking if i should wait for some time or send it right away

I got my PP renewed from DC in 7 busines days. Got it back in express mail.
However, the Surname now has only my last name. And the given name contains both my first and middle name.
In my old passport, the surename had both last and middle name while given name had only first name.
Is this a problem? Does anyone here know? I plan to get my h1b visa stamped in India.

Is the birth certificate required for dependants too or just the principal applicant...Can someone please clarify.....My PD is not current (EB-3 India Nov 2003)..But hoping it will be current in a few months....So just want to keep all docs ready if the dates are current.....

For those of us, who have green cards, we would also like to participate, if we can add an action item to improve citizenship rules. Most of us have waited 10 yrs for green card, and waiting another 5 yrs on top of it is too much.
Also, h1bs + green card holders would be both interested in joining the cause.

This is very well said. And also Pappu's reply was very appropriate and I agree every bit.
I will have to accept my 'silence' over the past few yrs when I was aware of the website but was a mute-spectator. I have only recently enrolled to monthly contributions and also helping spread the word on the usefulness of this site and spreading the appreciation and core-values that the core members who run/maintain this website are trying to instill.
I do understand the frustration of older members/contributors when someone just uses this site for their benefit without appreciating the core principals. But, criticizing and being sarcastic towards people only discourages and turns-off people - thats all I wanted to highlight.

That's not correct. There is big difference between h1B annd GC and it is not for 10 years. it is for ever unless you don't fulfill some conditions.
GC is given for a period of 10 years and not for ever.
