due to changes in procedures, a lot of the applications are going to the lock box facilities, this is slowing things down (it was actually supposed to make things go faster but we all know USCIS pretty well by now)

I know this is irrelevant in a way but see it from a different angle for one moment. There is no other forum where you can get any information about these H1 employers who are playing games using retrogression. This is the only forum where most of the people on H1 are related to some desi consulting company and can share their experiences which would help other people who are in huge pain due to the unfair practices of their existing employers.
I would recommend the administrators to create a separate area on this forum where people can share these experiences and find genuine employers.

Are you sure that if the employer is not revoking 140, (but they will cancel h1b ) i can join some other employer after receiving EAD.
Canceling h1b doesn't affect I-485.I am not sure about I-140 part.

Just got fired from my company.
I have concrete reasons to believe that it was an act of retaliation. I have documentary evidence for that.
I want to sue the company for damages. However, any such legal case must be fought on a pro-bono basis as I do not intend to spend my money on fighting this case.
If any lawyer is interested in taking up this case, please send me a private message/email with their phone numbers. I will provide further details on the phone.

First of all you would need a visa to visit UK.
I don't think Malaysian nationals residing legally in US and travelling to UK need a visitor visa...But I am not sure if UK visa law considers pending I-485 (AOS) a valid status....If you still maintain a valid H1 status but plan to re-enter on AP, you should be ok in my view...

Like I said earlier, you have 240 days before you go out of status. If you are receiving an RFE, it means your case is under review. Upon receiving your response to the RFE, the officer should be able to adjudicate case fairly soon. However, if you are nervous, I recommend file for an expedited review when sending your response. That said, I would hate to pay the extra $$$$ if I don't have to.

I was married in India as per Muslim law and currently both of us hold US citizenship. At the time of marriage we both were indian citizens. What kind of rights do my wife has on my property in India on our divorce (I bought these properties after my marriage and it is all registered under my name) ? In US, both husband and wife would share any property that we aquired after the marriage. Does the same true in India?

Well , the law states that the property accumulated after marriage has to be divided. Did you buy that property in India with money you accumulated in the US? Did you transfer that money from US to India? Was that money accumulated after marriage? If yes, then it will be divided as well. Of course it's best to check with lawyer first.

Looking at your current thread and all other previous threads related to the same topic, it seems clear that you have to start calling the concerned department as to why you have not yet received your applicant's green card. Looks like it is being processed as we speak based on the "Note from VB" you have posted. It's still better to call and find out. I am not sure who and what number to call for FB visa enquiries - but the data you give appears that your application is "ripe" for the plucking. There are lots of thread here suggesting how to get an info pass to talk to an Immigration Officer face to face. Search for the threads.
When you pose a question, can i suggest -
1. Give all the information that the readers needs to answer. For ex: we don't know which country the applicant is chargeable to.
2. And give all information in one thread. Make up your mind what your concern is and post the question(s) in one thread. Try not to put some question out there and hope it sticks.

All i know is that as of yesterday there were only 18000 applications for Masters quota.
Why did not they get filled as fast as the Regular quota?
This is the reasoning my lawyer gave....
"Most of the applicants for Master's quota were in confusion after April 3 after reading several bulletins about 200,000 or so H1-B applications. And some people didn't even apply thinking that the USCIS may have received more than enough master's quota applications even though the bulletin said that they were accepting more applications for Master's quota."
I know of people who have submitted fresh H1-B applications under master's quota as late as April 7th.
So guys, wait for the official numbers. Don't believe me. But do compare when the official news is released.
I am surprised by the slow pace of Master's applications.

Its been more than a month that my employer got the approval email but the lawyers say they never got the paper cert. In their opinion, now it is too late to expect the paper. They also say that it is impossible to get a duplicate cert from DOL.
The only option, per my lawyers, is to file a regular I140 and ask USCIS to get the duplicate directly from USDOL when we get the RFE.
Has anyone else had a similar experience or is the laywer pulling my chain since i have three EADs and APs due for approval in 3 months.
Can folks confirm that PERM certs indeed go missing and this is the only recourse?

thank you so much for the reassurance, have been getting mixed reports of immigration officers denying re-entry, so am a little perturbed :) dont want to be stuck in a situation where i cannot re-enter :)
