Will the completion of the Backlogs Centers help a LC recently submitted? Will my status change if an audit is required? I am just worried for the "30 days" deadline to response to the audit letter. Just in case the letter has been sent to my employer and is still hasn't been open it. :( Am I asking too much if my LC was submitted on 08/06/07?

Hopefully, I'll get out soon.... this is causing me so much stress....

I have spoken about IV to several friends, colleagues, acquaintances and relatives who are stuck in retrogression or likely to be affected by it sooner or later. I have found it very hard to orally convey effectively what IV does and how it benefits people like them. Of those to I have spoken to only 4 or 5 have become members of IV. Also, I think a lot of people, including me, find it difficult (shy, I guess) to directly approach people and canvass about anything.
I have also sent emails to these and several others about IV. Not sure how many read it and how many have become members. Nowadays chain and mass emails have become so ubiquitous, most people ignore or delete them, no matter who sends them.
Someone might have already done this or proposed this already, not sure

I think direct mail, although costs money, is one of the most effective way of communicating ideas and organizations like IV. People take this more seriously than emails.
In the next few days I will make a list of people (at least 30) that I want to convey about IV to and send them direct mail about IV. This will be done by printing the brochures and text of email IV has published and send it to them via postal mail. I may not have the postal addresses of all of them, but I should be able to find out by doing a reverse lookup on their phone numbers. I am also thinking of sending it to their work address if I can not find their home address.
In a few days, I will post again letting you all know how many direct mails I sent.
Here is what IV can do:
If IV thinks this is an effective way to increase membership they can do the following: Have members send them postal addresses and money towards postage and stationery. E.g. 50 cents per address. IV can send postal mails to the people (addresses given by members).
I think this is better than members sending themselves because IV can fine-tune the message and messages have more gravity if it comes from a non-profit instead of an individual person. (Others may disagree with this statement). Some may want to canvass about IV but may want to remain anonymous. Those who do not want to remain anonymous should have the option of adding their name/address at some appropriate place in the letter.
Another suggestion is that IV should publish a comprehensive direct mail package (and guidelines) that can be downloaded and printed by members like me who want to send direct mails

Usually a home is put to remains in 70-80 % loan for maximum tax benefit - most of the homes are like that. So when stock goes down and home prices go down by 20%, most of the houses come underwater.
The moment a home comes underwater or nearing it, refinancing is not possible.

My home buying In the buying process, I got: some money from builder towards closing cost, some money from agent. I'll get tax credit from fed. Also banker provided one year free borrower protection, which I can terminate before payment starts. So effectively system (business process) in US provided a total $17,000 while buying. People form India must be knowing - it is reverse over there. Here due to borrower protection i have protection of $25,000. So while buying, things are not that bad. if I add $17,000 with borrower protection of $25,000 (in case of problem), it turns out to be $40,000 odd. This is what I mean by system or business process providing support for buying. After putting all money in home, this $40,000 is still there.
Not having GC/Citizenship is a real hinderance, because one is fully part of US system as long as he/she is working. The moment job or status is gone, he/she is not part of system is US (becomes illegal). Buying is in this context a very high risk activity specially because trends are downward - there is no time to react.

I need some help. I am a non substanially comparable position candidate and I have been aduited. The CO mentioned that my job seems similar and want me to provide more information on my job duties so my manager and I worked together to ensure that my jobs were different to meet the requirements and I resubmitted my case. Does anyone know what the DOLs view on substainally comparable position candidates? Am I likely to get denied? I am in the a position that is not the typical IT role but working with HR and wanted to know what the DOL's response might be and if i am likely to get denied. Also, I am a fragormen client who is recently being audited so I'm nervous. Can you anyone help me??!?!?!

Alright guys, I cannot tell you how excited I am to report that i got a call this morning from my attorney and my online case status also states that Card Production was ordered for my case!!!
After 8 long years.....i finally have been approved for permanent residency. After 7 years, i will finally, with peace of mind, go back to India to visit my family. Thanks to IV, everyone's help on these forums for helping me keep my sanity over the past 2 years....
After 15 years in the US, I will finally have my green card in hand soon.

This is the selfish part of me speaking but I hope they don't become current but move to April 2008 or something similar.
If EB3 ROW is current then that opens up the numbers to EB3 India and China and we saw last year that India alone got 17K approvals so that cuts from the number of ROW approvals.
Again ... it's the selfish part of me ... in a perfect world, nobody would have to wait this long or make these claculations ...
I'm happy for all the people that get that "card ordered" email but I so hope to get one for myself!!!!
