If someone is responsible for the current state of affairs in the H1B area , It is Indian firms . The H1B1 was started in 'GOOD FAITH ' by United States to help people from "all over the world" to come in and work in the US , but large Indian IT houses have overexploited these loopholes so much that we are currently in this sorry state of affairs . In their greed for higher and higher profits(every Indian firm hits 30% profits every quarter ) they have spoiled a perfectly working program a few years ago to such a state that now getting an H1B has got less nothing to do with talent but has become like buying a supperlotto ticket .Below is a very good article from the "Economic Policy Institute " that highlights the fact that 2 well known Indian firms have single handedly lapped up 65% of H1B visas last year and have applied for just 69 green cards . Thats a GC application rate of 0.0004%. i Cannot help agree with the facts in this article. I totally agree that firms like these which abuse the system ought to be severely punished and blacklisted, so that geniunine US companies can get their required workers , when they need them . I did not write this bill. You should go to challenge Rep. Issa for that clause. In my previous post, I already said I am perfectly OK if the IV core want to modify the bill, so that the 55K can be applied to everyone. Is that very clear?
My friend there is no need for you to get antoganized with me because what i said in my previous post is more a message to everyone on this forum and is not anything personal against you. In fact i am surpirsed that you are even discussing opening up teh 55K to everyone.
I know you did not write this bill (Would have been nice if you did because you listen to the other persons argument which is sadly lacking in this forum from a long time)

And the fact that you are perfectly OK with IV Core modifying the bill only shows good intention on your side but sorry to say this (You would be very naive to think IV Core will entertain such ideas)

I have a couple of questions, pl let know if you have valid info.
Situation: My spouse came to US on H4 and then got converted to H1.Due to delay in pay and not a strong case, she is not willing to go for H1 visa stamping next time when she goes to India. She wasnts to go for H4 visa stamping instead.
1. Is it better to convert to H4 here and then leave for India? We feel that if it would take time to convert to H4, then instead of waiting she can work till the last day here and then quit and leave(because she wants to leave ASAP). Also changing from H1 to H4 here means submitting paystubs and other documents and more scrutiny. I think in Chennai consulate there will be less questions if applying for H4. Any thoughts, pl help?
2. If applying for H4 in Chennai, will they ask for paystubs from her previous H1 status? They shouldnt since she is applying for H4, but I still wanted to know. If they ask why do you want to change back to H4, what is the best answer?

Are you kidding. Kennedy is nothing like Lofgren. He only cares about illegals and thinks that legals have no issues at all. Once the illegals are out of the equation, he couldn't care less about what happens to legals.
I can bet my money that he most likely doesn't even know about this visa bulletin fiasco and wouldn't care even if he did knew.
Where is famously liberal "lion" Kennedy in all this. He is the counterpart to Lofgren. When you are the chair of the subcommitte on Immigration you are supposed to be a leader on these kind of issues. Really disappointing.

Honestly I don't even see a point for these discussions, polls or predictions for EB3-I. The sooner we accept we are doomed the better. The only way out is to help ourselves but I don't think many EB3's are willing to do that.
I spoke to several in my office with earlier EB3 PD's (who might not even get GC's in the next 5-10 years !) and of course with EAD's and they have literally substituted EAD for a GC. They were once a part of IV (and some similar org's ?!) but now have completely lost hope and don't care. I tried to motivate them to join IV and support but they feel that IV does not cater to EB3's anymore. Sadly they are not even trying to port to EB2. They are just content with a job and EAD.
So, I am not really sure how many of us are actually willing to fight ?!
In fact it's even worse for people like me who are still waiting to file their I-485. Is it going to take us 5,10 or 20 years just to get an EAD ?!

2) GSC999 - what is the announcement that you just made? He said, no announcement - I talk loud.
3) Getting a call from paskal on Monday midnight to tell me that the hotel had ended business with them. I said, I am in China Town with the IL chapter folks - You can join. He said, aman is taking him to some hotel alexandria or such.
4) At the airport on the way back, paskal giving me a lecture on why being scared of wife is good, when all I asked was "why don't u eat a slice of pizza like me before boarding your flight?" He started to piece together things I had emailed in the past few days. Paskal and I happened to have different flights to Chicago and Minneapolis at gates closer to each other. Paskal seemed flustered with a few hours delay.

I just got my wife's medical done ...from the same place where I got mine.
There is not need of the xray. If you have proof of vaccination good else they will take some of your blood and do your immunization test and return the SEALED envelope after 3 days. cost $190
For TB test some times you might need to do the X-ray after the skin test if the result is 5mm or higher. These kind of tests are not suggested for pregnant women and the doctor will keep a note.

Unless crises strikes people and they are shatters they do not care.
Just see the old threads of EAD delays. All these people with EADs were sobbing on those threads pleading to IV to help them. Most did not have a donor status or had contributed a dime. They were on the verge of losing their jobs when IV helped them get their EADs on time. Now where are all those hundreds of people. Are they contributing a dime for the lobby day? I bet after 2 years, they will come again to IV and sob about EADs delays and ask IV to help them.
This is the part I am not agreeing with IV and don�t like very much. Why would IV ever need to help people who never bothered to contribute time or money?

I just heard from a friend of mine that some attorneys are charging a premium to file applications on 2nd. This makes me think twice about veracity of the rumours .
