To all proponents of country quotas:
Well, if there is a cap for GCs then there should also be a cap on the number of H-1Bs that can be taken up by a country. There should be a cap on the number of allowable F-1 visas to a country. There should be a cap on number of employees of a particular nationality in an organization. There should be a separate line for different nationalities in supermarkets. Fair? Happy?

Based on this, I have again (yes, again) emailed by immigration lawyer and sent him the AILA's URL (although I cant see it coz I am not member of AILA).
IF AILA reports that they stopped accepting new 485 petitions for EB3-other, then it is pretty freaking scary and that means that what my lawyer told me "I cant happen, bla bla bla..." is really not 100% accurate. If it happened in June, it can happen in July. This is now REALLLLY SCARY, coz my lawyer has plans for July-end for filing.
Ever since the dates got current, it has been more stressful than the time when dates were retrogressed and almost makes me miss the retrogression days when I didnt have to depend on the lawyers for my career.

I was also thinking on the same lines. Are all Desi's loosing money and wasting their time. There's got to be something behind it..,
These people hardly shell out a few dollars or time for IV which benefits them way more than Quickstar., then why waste their time on it., Makes me think.

I advocate talking to policymakers, writing to them, and calling in on any talkshow on the radio/tv - where ever there is an opportunity.

To begin with, family based has nearly 60% more visas than employment based and nearly 80% of the visas available are exempt from per-country limits. And yet, the politicians want to reform family based immigration process because the people at the receiving end are their citizens. There is nothing wrong with it because the wait-time for extended family members are really long too which is a shame. But you see, there are bills that are actively discussed and passed in that category i.e fundamental solutions are being explored.
Why is Mr. Bobby Jindal and likes of him not taking up our cause actively? People use their "humble-background" in campaign times. Why do they fail in holding out a helping hand to people that are stuck in such "humble-background"? Do you see such apathy in other minority communities?

I filed 2 140's:
1. 140 and 485 concurrently at the TSC on Aug 6th 2007 based on the EB2, India, May 06 labor . This 140 is not approved.
2. Filed second 140 based on Mar 05 labor on Dec 14th 2007 at TSC- EB2, India. Both are with the same company. This got approved on Aug 8th, 08.
How do I link the approved 140 to my 485? Do I need to fill in any form or do I need to talk to TSC or send them letter with approved 140 and 485 copy.
Would appreciate inputs.

I am a little unclear on all of the retrogression ect. But can someone please explain how EB3 ROW can be retrogressed and not use all of the visa numbers in a year? That doesnt even make sense to me? Would someone please shed some light?

If you aren't going to be in US, even if you have an agent, there's is a risk that they might call you up for an interview you may not be able to go to.
If you are hard-up on info and don't want to go thro' headache, try one of the reputed ones.. stay away from WWICS..
For couple of thousand.. if you can get little help and good advise, it's not bad.. but most of these shops are akin to Desi consultants in USA. Lie, Cheat and make money .. that's the mission statement..
Apart from that.. process and forms are on the web. Tricky part is getting a job and living in Canada .. It's a honduras with worse looking people..

seems like they encashed my draft on 10/25.
so is my date going to be considered be 10/25.
i got a letter stating your letter is in priority queue and we would contact you.
when do they contact genrally. lany idea about next steps.
