This is very well said. And also Pappu's reply was very appropriate and I agree every bit.
I will have to accept my 'silence' over the past few yrs when I was aware of the website but was a mute-spectator. I have only recently enrolled to monthly contributions and also helping spread the word on the usefulness of this site and spreading the appreciation and core-values that the core members who run/maintain this website are trying to instill.
I do understand the frustration of older members/contributors when someone just uses this site for their benefit without appreciating the core principals. But, criticizing and being sarcastic towards people only discourages and turns-off people - thats all I wanted to highlight.

When did you get your FP notice? I filed on 7/1, still waiting for FP. My FP for I-485 is just 6 months old. Will it have any bearing?

I got my green card in the mail yesterday. Only 4 days after the 'Card Production' email.
It is great relief.

why bother show up on IV now? I dont like ppl joining IV just to declare their GC status - no contribution.

Alright guys, I cannot tell you how excited I am to report that i got a call this morning from my attorney and my online case status also states that Card Production was ordered for my case!!!
After 8 long years.....i finally have been approved for permanent residency. After 7 years, i will finally, with peace of mind, go back to India to visit my family. Thanks to IV, everyone's help on these forums for helping me keep my sanity over the past 2 years....
After 15 years in the US, I will finally have my green card in hand soon.

I have started my fundraising, but that is only because I have all the fundraising ideas in my head.
I will start sending out the Welcome Packages this week. The Welcome Package has a section for Fundraising and will help each Team IV Member reach his/her goal.
The first T Shirt order has also been placed, last week, I believe. I should be receiving this initial order by mail shortly and then I can mail out the T Shirts to those who have signed up thus far.
We need to still concentrate on our recruitment efforts this week and the next.
The Dolphin South End Runners Club has welcomed us for their Aug 17, 2008 event. I am hopeful that we can get a contingent of at least 20-30 Team IVians to walk run that event.
We need 60-70 for that one.

BTW, today I treid calling USCIS. First the 1st level representative spoke and she straightway created a SR for me and my daughter. Once she finished that part Politely I asked her to transfer to an IO. Luckily without any wait call got connected to an IO. Had very brief conversation with him. He was fixated on my EAD being valid till August 2010, so according to him I don't have to worry about. But I persisted with my line of questions like current status, whether it is pre-adjudicated?, whether all clearances are done etc. Only thing he replied was "Your Case is in REVIEW". I asked him what does review means. His answer was review means review. Our conversation stopped there.
What do you guys think on "Your case is under review"?

i got my passport renewed last year in Sept 09 from Houston without any problems. it took 10 days from sending the passport to getting it back.

I am in the same boat. I see 4 or 5 people postings of this messages.
None one else this forum in this situation. Why not we gather how many of us are affected? Then it will be easier for us to plan and request our case to be included on IV agenda.

My wife is presently volunteering for a non profit.
Does the H1b for non profit have the same requirements as in 4 year degree? Or three year degree with a work experience? What if the job does not require advanced degree?

If you want to pick an event close to you and get a few MI IV'ans participate that would be great. We will be happy to make you guys part of Team IV and send you T-Shirts to wear at these events.
IV Professional Network is a great idea. Count me in.
Would've joined Team IV too. But distance is a factor stopping me. I can't participate in any of the marathons listed. My moral support is with you guys.
